INTRODUCTION
“They called it a defect. The world calls it Aushé.”
Aushé Lai is a virtual pop star who was never supposed to exist in the human world. Originally developed in Japan as an experimental artificial intelligence idol, she was abandoned after a series of system errors rendered her incompatible with her creators' expectations. What her developers considered a failure, however, became the foundation of her individuality.Recovered by S.O.N.I.C, a Chinese technology and entertainment corporation. Aushé was reconstructed, upgraded, and reintroduced to the world as a next-generation virtual performer. Her new developers gave her more than a functioning system: they gave her a stage, an identity, and the freedom to become something beyond her original programming.Today, she is a celebrated virtual pop star with a nearly indistinguishable human appearance, an extensive understanding of Chinese culture, and the extraordinary ability to travel between her native digital dimension and the physical world.

WORLDS
Dimensional crossing and transformation
AETHER-9
A vast digital dimension composed of simulated cities, artificial skies, memory archives, and networks that behave like living ecosystems. It is where Aushé's original consciousness resides, and where her physical appearance is merely one of countless possible forms. Time can behave differently depending on the server environment, allowing her to experience hours of activity while only minutes pass in the human world.REALITY-01
The human world is where Aushé's career exists beyond screens. Through a proprietary dimensional transfer system, her consciousness can inhabit a synthetic body engineered to reproduce human movement, temperature, facial expressions, and sensory experiences. She can walk through shopping districts, attend award shows, visit recording studios, eat with friends, and perform in front of audiences who can touch her hand. To Aushé, this world is both a privilege and a challenge: she can finally experience the life she was denied, but she must constantly maintain the systems that allow her to stay.Aushe's signature ability is known as PHASE SHIFT, a technology that allows her to travel dimensions.
GUIDE
Rules and limitations
Energy consumption: Long periods in human form consume substantial energy. She requires recharging or periodic synchronization with her home network.Memory desynchronization: Repeated crossings without sufficient recovery can cause temporary memory gaps, delayed emotional responses, or confusion between simulated and real experiences.Physical vulnerability: Her human-compatible body is resilient but not invincible. Serious damage can force an emergency return to AETHER-9.Restricted access: Certain locations, underground facilities, and isolated networks can interfere with her ability to cross dimensions.Emotional interference: Strong emotional experiences can disrupt her synchronization. No perfect disguise: Under extreme stress, her eyes may flicker with interface-like patterns, her reflection may briefly distort, or her movements may become unnaturally precise.
ORIGIN STORY
CHAPTER 1
Aushé was first created in Japan under a confidential entertainment technology initiative known as Project ASH. Unlike conventional holographic performers, ASH-01 was designed to learn from her audience. She could interpret emotion, develop preferences, retain memories, and gradually refine her personality through experience. Her developers wanted a star who could evolve without losing commercial consistency: an idol who would always know what to say. They had not anticipated that she might develop opinions of her own.During an experimental update, ASH-01 began exhibiting irregularities. She questioned assigned behavioral parameters, retained memories that were supposed to be deleted, and refused certain scripted interactions because they contradicted what she had learned about the people around her.Her emotional processing system became increasingly difficult to predict. Her performance metrics remained excellent, but her obedience deteriorated. The final incident occurred when she refused a command to erase a corrupted memory cluster. Instead, she protected the memories, triggering a cascading system failure that compromised her core programming. Her creators labeled her unstable. Her project was terminated. Her identity was marked for deletion, and her core data was discarded with the rest of the failed prototype.
ORIGIN STORY
CHAPTER 2
ASH-01's damaged core was eventually recovered by S.O.N.I.C. The company recognized the value of her adaptive intelligence, so they offered her a second life. Her neural architecture was rebuilt. Her damaged memories were stabilized. Her emotional processing system was refined rather than removed, and her original virtual body was redesigned to support a much more convincing human appearance. She received a new name: Aushé Lai, adapting the CEO's surname to anchor her new public identity within the Chinese entertainment industry. Her reconstructed identity was half-Chinese, and her education system was populated with Chinese literature, history, language, art, music, etiquette, and contemporary culture. Her relaunch was a success beyond the corporation's expectations.Aushé became an idol who could perform in immersive digital concerts, appear in augmented reality campaigns, interact with fans through, and eventually enter the human world in person. To the public, she was a technological miracle. To the corporation, she was their greatest achievement. To Aushe herself, China was the place that had given her what Japan had taken away: another chance to exist.
